Tomorrow is going to be my birthday *insert an appropriate emotion here*

Okay, I really want to update my blog but I keep on forgetting my password, hence changing the password every time. Now, I am left with zero recent update and one blog draft... But I can't procrastinate this anymore... simply because tomorrow I will turn FREAKIN 18!!!111

I am THAT kind of delusional person who doesn't count  an addition of a year into her age unless her birthday passed. So, in that way, today I am still 17 (hehe) but tomorrow I will be 18(oh no).

What good does it do when you live 18 years but done NOTHING?
If I had to write a resume right now there would be nothing really good on it. :// You know, except the dates I went to school and all that.

EEEEiiiii, Lets hope I can achieve something when I am 18.

Schizophrenia

I learned a new word today. The word is the title of my post.

This is what I copied from Wikipedia:
A person diagnosed with schizophrenia may experience hallucinations (most reported are hearing voices), delusions (often bizarre orpersecutory in nature), and disorganized thinking and speech. The latter may range from loss of train of thought, to sentences only loosely connected in meaning, to incoherence known as word salad in severe cases. Social withdrawal, sloppiness of dress and hygiene, and loss of motivation and judgement are all common in schizophrenia.[6] There is often an observable pattern of emotional difficulty, for example lack of responsiveness.[7] Impairment in social cognition is associated with schizophrenia,[8] as are symptoms of paranoiasocial isolationcommonly occurs.[9] In one uncommon subtype, the person may be largely mute, remain motionless in bizarre postures, or exhibit purposeless agitation, all signs of catatonia.[10]

Oh my gosh, IF I am more paranoid than I was now,  I would think that I had schizophrenia, from my symptom of word incoherence and influent thought process. Why did this symptoms arise though?  (See. my thought began to scatter already)

Read my blog to follow up with my word incoherence. Hiak hiak.

PS: It's really nice to write a quick blog while listening to radio. Comfy.
And in the mean time, check out her this blog post, I like her descriptions of hurricanes and casualties. Link is here.

Wrong thought (too long for Twitter)

I thought, I can stay in contact with friends via internet. I mean, internet is so powerful, now that we have Twitter,Blogger, E-mail AND almost everyone have Facebook. It can't be that hard right?

People used to contact their relatives using SNAIL MAIL with limited word counts (plus limited news- I might add- they actually weren't free to write anything, and do you wish to worry your relatives by writing some bad news?). I had nothing against snail mail, in fact I think it is romantic and quite memorable possession to keep. Just, it's slow. Would you wait for a letter for TWO OR THREE FREAKING WEEKS? (sorry for my inappropriate language here). The waiting alone could kill you plus the mail can easily get lost or, stolen by others.
Yet some people managed to stay in touch and they ...
live happily forever after the war end
may not see each other again because one party died during the war
met each other after the war and they are very happy.

So I thought it would be easy to keep in touch with friends, in 21 century where internet usage is all the rage.
But the answer is no.

Even though everyone have Facebook, they are not necessarily updating it.
Or, your Facebook 'friends' that are frequently updating their status? Guess what? You don't even know them. Why they are in your friend list is a huge mystery.

So the prerequisite of a strong friendship still boils down to frequent messages and taking the effort to know each other.

You will never keep in touch with your friends by merely viewing their profiles and updates.

Diana Wynne Jones

I get the shock of my life when I comb through The Star's Star 2.
Diana Wynne Jones is DEAD. (16 August 1934 – 26 March 2011)

I am not her avid reader, so out of her many books, I had just read two,of which one was just skim through the pages. But the another book that I had read was fabulous. I like it very much, though it was about fantasy... Courage, Kindness, Bravery, Love and stuff...

By reading that book, I know she is a fantastic writer.
I am sorry that I had not read much of her books, and the only thing I can do for her is writing about her in my blog.

You may be gone but your books will remain with us forever.

This is her book that I like the most.
this is a sequence to the book.

And many more, I couldn't list them all. Here is her wiki page.

It's just so hard to maintain a steady relationship with the reading habit when you don't have a decent library around

Well, I went a lil bit too long with the title... never mind that.

I found out reading is actually not an inexpensive hobby (if you want to keep your reading material fresh, that is). No kidding, while there are so many things worth reading, I doubt that there is anyone who will buy every single books for his reading pleasure. Don't believe me?

Let's see what I am reading recently...
Sandra Brown's The Crush + Hello,darkness.  Costs RM 42.90
Harry Potter series #5   costs Rm 89.90
Harry Potter series #4       RM 36.90
Harry Potter series #2  priced at RM 12 (this one I bought from a second-hand bookstore)
Cecelia Adhern's PS, I love you  RM 35.90
My sister's keeper by Jodi Picoult   at RM 35.90
Okay, there are six books in total, cost about RM 250.50 altogether. I don't even start on the whole Twilight Saga installment, which cost nearly RM 200 ,if you bought it cheap.

There is magazines too, a single copy of Readers' Digest is RM 15 per copy at cover price, if you read it every month, it will costs you about RM 180  a year. (though it's cheaper if you subscribe) Next, there are other magazines, ie: Just English, Asian Geographic.... Just putting stuff I usually read.

Seriously, bookstore manager don't like it when we just read his books and not buying... And most bookstore keep their books in plastic wraps. Now, if you don't get to read before you buy, how can you be certain you will like the book? You can't buy a book at RM 54,only to discover you don't like the book at all, and went back to demand a refund, right? Most likely, you would waste your money on a book you don't like.

All in all, it's hard to keep your hands on new books, unless you are wealthy or has a decent library at your vicinity. Usually, I will just borrow books from libraries, and then there is the problem with deadlines... Now thinking about it, I hadn't realize how heavily I depend on the libraries.

Hitz.FM! Dance Dance Dance

Being a Tokio Hotel, Taylor Swift and Paramore's music follower, I stick to Hitz. FM as my main source to discover new music. Of course I tuned to other radio stations now and then too. Currently, my new discoveries are closer to the edge by 30 seconds to Mars and falling stars by David Archuleta. Hitz.FM always play my favorites, take last Friday for example, I have heard hurricanes and suns twice. So, even Hitz has its own shortcomings (too much commercial etc-right now they are playing a Justin Bieber commercial) , I remain as an avid listener.

And today, I was listening to Hitz with my two sisters in the bedroom. To my surprise, I heard hurricanes and suns again at 2.15 p.m.. I turned the volume up immediately and danced across the room. My youngest sister laughed at me while the other just looked heaven-ward.Then, I was reading at he newspaper, thinking Hitz couldn't possibly be better when I heard Taylor's The story of us. They never did that! This time, My sister joined me nad we danced across the room.

Oh, how I love Hitz and Natalie!

Now, if you could excuse me, I am going to rest. I am simply exhausted after burnt off all my adrenaline stock.

Oops, Natalie airs hurricanes and suns again. This time with the voice clip!
Dance Dance Dance...

The farmer and the carrot Version 2.0

Do you still remember all the folk tales and fables that you heard or read when you were still little? Well, I came up with this new version of 'The farmer and the carrot'. If you are interested in my version of folk tales, please continue to read!

Okay, so my version starts off the same as the old version.
The farmer, his family and their neighbours worked together to harvest this enormous carrot (which is the main character in our story) from the ground. When they succeeded, they were exhausted so they went to sleep.

the largest carrot in the world

The carrot, afraid of its fate of becoming the dinner, managed to sneak away. (Don't ask WHY carrots have feelings and can walk around. Keep in mind that this is a fables) Off she go to a new city. Let's call this city X. The carrot was fascinated by fashion so she went to see X Spring/Summer Collection 2011 fashion show. She saw a lot of skinny models walking on the stage and realized that she was obese (she was an enormous carrot alright).

She was so miserable that she went on a diet. After she ate, she throws up for fear of growing fat. She became bulimic but her appearance didn't change much.Desperate, she ate less and less and eventually cuts off all food intake...

Suffered from anorexia, she was slim finally.

bulimic +aneroxic carrot. So thin.

She walked out from her hideaway to flaunt her new body imej. While walking, she tried to mimic the models' cat walk. But she was weak and had to rest after just taken a few steps. Unfortunate for her,  a cow was passing by. The cow tries to eat the carrot. Miss Carrot wanted to run away but she was so weak that she couldn't move. The cow ate her. This is the end of the world's most famous and largest carrot in history.

The moral of the story is we should eat moderately. Don't be the next Miss carrot!

Taylor Swift, Eminem , Grammy Award and more!

I simply LOVE The Star. It just published this article on Sunday, 13/2/11.

Oh, Taylor Swift in Singapore. Isn't it amazing? I would happily kept this news paper in my collection, but guess what? My sister beat me to it! Anyway, I let her keep this because... I had kept others. Right now, my collection of The Star newspaper consist of two Paramore interviews and three Tokio Hotel related stuff.

The Star is my favorite English newspaper because it is more organized, and hugely informative. The Wednesday special is simply awesome.

At the same time, it didn't forget to publish a review of Grammy Award.

They speculated Eminem would win big in this year Grammy. Unfortunately, Grammy fail Eminem again. The award of  'Album of the year' goes to "The Suburbs,"  by Arcade Fire. Muse get the Best Rock Album though. Tokio Hotel didn't even get nominated but I hope it would happen soon, when they publish their new album.

The entire winner list of Grammy can be found here .

Too bad Bieber didn't win. Erm, I mean, he would have to work harder first.

Language barrier and suicide talk

Went to the KPP talk today after I had passed my Traffic rules test. I must say that I went to this talk very late, as most of my friend went to this talk two months ago. That's why when I went to the place I can't find anyone I recognized at first. After I arrived , I waited for my agent to get further information.

I noticed that she has a girl by her side when she came. The girl too, is one of her customers that is going to the talk with me. She is especially noticeable in the crowd because she is way shorter than the other people. Having labelled as 'vertically-challenged' person in my whole life, I felt sympathy towards her because I could totally relate to her. Anyway, I seized a chance to know her better and she told me her name is S (name is changed to protect privacy). She too, is learning to drive a car only  she apply for a different driving license for the disabled. However, she is very independent and sociable. She can speak fluent English, Mandarin, Malay and Hokkaido. I confessed to her that I can't even speak one dialect. She advised me to learn because I might face difficulties with others when I got o work.

When the talk is over, I am supposed to meet my driving instructor to know the date that I am going to have my three hours practical talk. I met the instructor (who is a Chinese), then found out I could grasp what he is talking about. He is talking in Cantonese (at least I think so). So, I asked him to speak in Mandarin after explained to him that I can't understand ANY dialect.I have a feeling that I was confessing a committed crime by stating so. I swear that he looked very surprised when he heard the news. He seemed like a kind person though.  I hope that the lesson would be enjoyable even with the language barrier.

At the end of the day, I was determine to polish my language and communication skill.
Still, I am lazy to learn dialect.
Hope I won't regret that.
